THE COALITION

People all across the Northwest and the country are standing up to take action before salmon, steelhead - and the orcas that rely on them to survive - go extinct. We are a coalition of people, businesses, and organizations who are calling for our elected leaders to stop salmon extinction by removing four dams on the lower Snake River, replacing their services, and investing in Northwest communities.

ASHLEY NICOLE LEWIS

If salmon fishing dried up or collapsed altogether, this is the fabric of who we are as Indigenous people. We’re the people who have been here since time immemorial. For millennia, we have been the keepers of this resource. And so, to have that dissolve is really to break apart everything that makes us who we are.

MATT & BREANN GREEN

We work hard each season to keep our businesses afloat. With each season that passes the possibility of us losing it all seems to grow closer. There is no shortage of tourists who want to experience all the Idaho backcountry has to offer, but there is a shortage of fish.”

We see firsthand and in real time the changes happening in the river and to so many of our tribe’s traditions and first foods. Salmon and steelhead numbers are declining, and with each season that passes that decline is felt in our community.
