TAKE ACTION NOW! SAVE OUR SALMON!

We can stop extinction, lead the largest salmon restoration in history, and honor the rights of tribes and Indigenous people who were promised abundant salmon by the United States in treaties. Get involved and stand with Northwest Tribes. Scroll down for our most urgent calls to action.

WATER REPLACEMENT STUDY

In order to remove the lower Snake River dams, the existing services must be replaced – namely transportation, water supply, energy production, and recreation. Ensuring that service replacement planning progresses in Washington is critical to lower Snake River restoration. A strong show of public support for the study will help convince key decision-makers to move from planning to funding and implementation.

ENERGY MARKET DECISION

The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is rushing a major decision to join a new energy market that will negatively impact our Northwest energy landscape, critically endangered salmon and steelhead, and undermine treaties and commitments made to Tribes. Email Administrator Hairston and urge BPA to PAUSE its decision and make sure all factors and potential outcomes for other regional utilities are fully considered.

ACTION ALERT: PUBLIC COMMENTS NEEDED!

Lower Snake River Water Supply Replacement Study

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) and Washington Department of Ecology have released a draft Lower Snake River Water Supply Replacement Study, examining how water supply for farms, municipalities, and industries can be maintained if the lower Snake River dams are removed. The study confirms there would be plenty of water in a free-flowing lower Snake River to support farmers, cities, and industries. With smart investments, they can continue to get the water they need while restoring salmon and steelhead populations. You can learn more about the study by visiting the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation website by clicking here.
